PRIDE is committed to coaching girls of all ages, at all levels. We field teams at the 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th grade age levels. PRIDE teams are named for their high school graduation year. For example, the 2018 - 2019 seasons our 8th graders are 2023, 7th graders are 2024, 6th graders are 2025, 5th graders are 2026, 4th graders are 2027, and our little laxers in the 3rd grade are 2028s.
Our program is committed to player development, so we field two teams at every level: RED and WHITE.
According to researchers, some athletes are bound for a sports participant pathway, and others a sports performance pathway. Depending on an individual's age and stage of development, some kids play sports because they enjoy being with their friends, like learning, and enjoy the excitement from competition. Others gravitate to a high-performance pathway, where they focus on long term improvement, and display athletic and emotional abilities that exceed many of their peers.
At PRIDE, we support both types of players. We see movement up and down (from RED to WHITE, and WHITE to RED) at different ages, and support this. This keeps players focused and happy with a lower burnout rate and a continued love of the game.
RED Team: Our most competitive team made up of Pride's most advanced and skilled players. Practices include strategic team play, advanced stick mechanics, and complex drills. Players are expected to have a strong understanding of the fundamentals, while competing at the highest level.
WHITE Team: Our white teams are also very competitive and we spend more time up front developing strong fundamentals. The team also spends a lot of practice time on team play and learning advanced stick mechanics and drills.
Please note that every year new and returning players are required to tryout. The team a player previously played on does not determine placement for the next year.
Please select your daughter's high school graduating year which will indicate what team she will be eligible to tryout for to learn more about the specific coaches, tournaments, and practice schedules.
